About the Event

This 10-day ACM India Winter School will offer an immersive introduction to Responsible AI, covering fairness, transparency, privacy, and the policy frameworks shaping AI deployment. Designed to empower the next generation of women in technology, the program blends theory with real-world case studies, hands-on tools, and discussions on governance, ethics, and regulation.

Instructions for the participants:

  • Participants may check in on the night of 14th December. Accommodation will be provided in the guest rooms of the UG Girls’ Hostel.
  • Participants may stay up to the night of 24th December. Extensions beyond this date are not permitted.
  • The nearest railway station is Khurda Road Station, approximately 6 km from the university. Auto rickshaws are available and usually charge INR 300–400.
  • Participants may also arrive at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, which is around 15 km from the university. The station is currently undergoing maintenance, so participants are advised to seek help from local staff or passengers to locate the nearest exit.
  • Uber, auto rickshaws, and rental cars are available outside both railway stations.
  • Bhubaneswar Airport is approximately 13 km from the university. Ubers and rental cars are available from the airport.
  • Participants are expected to attend all sessions unless an emergency is communicated to the organizers. Attendance may be recorded digitally or manually.
  • Blankets, mattresses, and pillows will be provided. Since it is the winter season, participants are advised to bring an additional thin blanket for extra comfort.
  • Participants must bring their own laptops. Charging points and LAN ports will be provided, and WiFi will be available. No desktop systems are available for lab sessions.
  • Breakfast and dinner will be provided in the Hostel Mess. Lunch will be served at the venue (IC Building, Ground Floor).
